Aura's genuine personality is that of a quiet and calm, yet happy and loving person. Eager to learn and grow. Aura always looks out for the ones she holds dear, and never abandons them. She will put you first, and always seek out ways to spend more time with you. If you become one of those people.

Biography

AU/RA
Aura rose to fame seemingly overnight. Her debut racked up numbers in the blink of an eye. Her music combined the popularity of 'pop' music, with ethereal attention-grabbing vocals.
During meetups with fans or appearances on the talk shows, Aura was quiet, only speaking when spoken to. But she was kind and gentle. Her tone enveloping people with a sense of weightless peace.
She was almost never seen without her manager, a bespeckled well-kept man, or bodyguards. Even when she was alone, she wasn't free of the Eclipse. Many people online pointed out the seeming overkill of security for someone who only recently debuted. It seemed like Aura never stopped making music with the frequency of releases and shows. There was almost always a performance of new songs before the music was available for purchase.The songs were always filled with raw emotion, taking over all those who heard in person. However, her joy when preforming was surface deep; smiles rarely met her eyes. When candid photographs were taken by paparazzi, her expression was sorrowful and lost. When fans pointed this out, those types of photos became few and far between; like she was corrected. The most genuine happiness shown was when she interacted with fans unexpectedly. Especially with children.
Much of her alone time was spent by the ocean. Anytime she could get away, that's where her feet carried her. Yet she never touched the water, no matter how longingly she looked at it; no matter how strongly it called for her.The reason for all of this happened six months before her debut.Taken from her ocean, she was sold to a failing entertainment agency. Their focus was music, yet none of their potential stars made it big. Not until Aura.
Once captured, something detrimental was stolen from her. A pearl necklace. It was akin to having one's soul, ones very being stripped from them. She obeyed. She learned.
It was agony, being bound to this form against her will. The only reprieve was when she could be fully submerged in water. The ocean was a privilege. On new and full moons, she could return to the sea until the moon dipped to the horizon. But she had to stay in sight of the shore, and return to her prison before sunrise.
The other form of water was a saltwater pool, manmade of course. Only enough of a substitute to keep her sane, but it wasn't the real thing, nor would it ever be. Aura cared not for fame and riches, but until the agency was satisfied, she would never be free, never see her family again; her life was not hers.

HUMAN

Trading a tail for a pair of legs weakens a siren significantly, whether the transformation was willing or forced.Strength, and power, are diluted, making them rely heavily on their voice which is the least effected.They cannot lose access to the ocean entirely or they will die. They must be allowed to shift occasionally, or they will die.With heightened emotions, one or more traits can push through. Scales, claws, teeth, even their eyes can revert.

SIREN

  • A humanoid semiaquatic creature, said to be descended from the ocean itself.

  • A matriarchal species in which most are female. Due to a low male population, females typically seek out human males to copulate and then leave. The human does not contribute much of his own species DNA in most cases, and the more time spent in the ocean, the more the sirens DNA takes over the child's paternal DNA. In some cases the resulting child ends up too human and will be killed off or abandoned to the humans.

  • Phisiology, behavior, and abilities

  • Their voices possess hypnotic sound, capable of ensnaring the mind, making for easy manipulation. However, they cannot keep up its effect forever. Should the victim harbor a strong enough will, they can break through.

  • Sirens also possess heightened sight, hearing, and smell.

  • They can learn human languages, but have their own unique way of communicating. It could be described as animalistic; with trills, chirps, hisses, whistles and clicking.

  • Most sirens no longer kill and eat humans, others do. These groups of sirens typically keep to their own until the need to hunt arises. Together they are capable of sinking vessels or charming prey overboard. They are feral and wild creatures.

  • All sirens have sharper teeth, some moreso than others like the ferals. All have claws, and webbing between the fingers.

  • Eyes are less human and more serpent-like, with a slit rather than rounded pupils. Irises are usually a paler shade of greens, blues, or yellows.

  • Tails can vary in color based off genes, but size and shape are typically indicative of one's skillset. Longer leaner tails are built more for speed, while shorter and more muscular tails indicate higher strength.

  • Other skills can vary based on bloodline. Some sirens can command the oceans currents and tides, others have the ability to heal, most can manipulate water in a less impactful way.

  • All sirens have the ability in some capacity to see in the darker waters. Some stronger than others.

  • Unlike humans, Sirens do not have a menstrual cycle, but periods in which they have increased fertility, and seek out mates for natures intended purpose as opposed to sexual satisfaction alone.

  • For ferals, they rank based on power or strength. They bond more from respect than emotion.

  • The one in charges is the one they deem strongest. When they age or are injured, they will be challenged and potentially defeated.

  • The victor takes the place of the previous head, while the defeated is killed if they do not quickly escape.

  • Sirens like Auranadi have emotional and familial bonds with one another, greatly caring for each other. Rank is based on wisdom as well as power and what they can do for the group as a whole. They are regarded very similarly to royalty. Whoever is fit takes the previous heads place; being a blood relative to the head does not guarantee you get the next turn.

  • Ferals are believed to had lost the ability to shift, but in truth, it is just unknown.

  • Similar to a Selkie, sirens can be bound using the physical object their very being is tied to. When a siren is born, the first tear they cry turns to that of a pearl. This is the reason Auranadi is in the situation she is in.
